PostHeaderIcon Atheists, do you think that……….?

I did something wrong here? For ever how long this question lasts before it’s deleted at least read it and reply to me via mail.

Personally, I think I did nothing wrong. What do you think atheists? I ask only Atheists because I know that theists will deny the fact that men in mid-life were marrying and having sex with females younger than 18.

Question: What is a really good Christian book about dating?

Question Details: I am a 16 year old young man and I have read one book
already, but when my friend that is a girl read it she said it was a
joke. I need stuff on how to be even more romantic, how to work on my
"game", how to find the right girl, and how to become more of
a man, all while living a God pleasing life. Any books or other kinda
material you know of like this let me know please. Thanks OMG!! Stop
telling me what I need and dont need! I just want a book, of course I
read the Bible but I want another one as well. Oh and your just wasting
your pathetic time if you tell me there is no God, your the stupid one!!
So shut up people unless you have a book to tell me about!! Sorry I got
so mad, but I hate when idiots say that there is no God. Whatever, its
your loss, not mine.

Deleted Answer: Sorry to break it to you, but the only way you can
become a man is through EXPERIENCE and through what you have
experienced. Back in "Jesus’" day, 50 year old men were
marrying and having sexual relations with 13 year old girls so consider
yourself to be quite inexperienced. Oh yes, there is no god. And before
you judge me why don’t you just ask yourself for one second. EDIT: I
find it funny how no one who ever shows themselves when they down thumb
me. And it is true for many many many years that old men were marrying
and f*cking young girls..That is fact and unfortunately, it still
happens today, but for most of the "christians" that’s now
called rape even though it’s in their own book. Hypocrites.

Having your answer deleted does not mean you violated the rules. It simply means that a number of would-be censors hit the report button. Using the f-word is uncalled for but what you say is fair enough. They say Muhammad married a 7 or 9 y/o girl and it’s still done today legally in Saudi Arabia and illegally in the U.S. by some fundamentalist Mormon sects.

“My Mistake”
“What do you mean were moving I’ve lived here my whole life! I can’t believe you would do this to me what are you thinking you have a good job, a good house, and good friends and you have decided to give it all up for some guy you hardly know.” That was how my 16th birthday started and that was the event that would change my life forever.

My mother and I had lived in the same small town in the middle of nowhere, until she met Richard, whom she met on an internet dating site. At first it was funny my mom on a dating site talking to people from all across the country. It was merely a joke in my mind, nothing would come out of it and it would not change my life in any way, but soon she decided to fly half way across the country to visit this guy and I started to get worried. It turned out that my worries were for good reason because next thing I know I am packing up for the move to Cleveland Ohio. Instead of spending the summer with my friends and relaxing I was going to be moving to a city that was eleven hundred miles away and ten times the size of my home town.

Ohio was like another planet, nothing was the same the people were unfriendly; the city was loud, and crowded. I didn’t like the situation, I didn’t like my mom’s new husband, and I didn’t like the person my mom had become, but for her sake I was going to try to make it work. My summer quickly passed and I had to go to school. This new school had over two thousand students and was massive compared to my old one which housed just over one hundred. My first couple of weeks were boring I went to school did my work and had as little social contact as possible. After three weeks of school I was miserable. I had a total of zero friends from school and was dreading waking up every morning. Enough was enough I wanted friends, I wanted something to do other than watch TV, and I wanted to have fun. I was going to make friends with any group of people I could, and start living my life.

So next week I broke out of my shell and began my attempt at making friends, but after a week I found out that I didn’t fit in anywhere. I was a country boy in a town full of people whose only contact with animals was at the supermarket. I was not going to make friends by being me so I decided to change. I quickly became friends with a group of misfits who were outcast to every clique except their own, this status allowed me to quickly make friends with them. Just as quickly as I accepted them they accepted me and I was set. Finally I was not alone stuck in my room every night hating life I was living it. After what my mother put me through I did not care about being the “good kid” she wanted me to be, in my eyes her selfishness was cause for me to do what I want and forget my Christian upbringing. Before I knew it I was skipping school, smoking pot, and getting drunk with my new friends. My life was spiraling out of control, and I did not care.

Little did I know that my care free lifestyle was about to catch up with me. On my seventeenth, one year from finding out the worst news of my life my I paralyzed my best friend. We went to a party drank a lot of alcohol, and smoked some pot nothing unusual. What was unusual was that I was picked to drive. I never attempted to drive while drunk, but how hard could it be I took the keys from my friend and started home. We chose the scenic route hoping to find another party, but never made it go eighty miles per hour down a one way street I hoped a curb, and smashed into a tree. I paralyzed my best friend, broke my arm, and ruined my life. Now I am serving fifteen months in an Ohio state prison for DUI and reckless endangerment. I am never going to forget about the person whose life I ruined, and will never make the same mistakes I made while in Ohio. When I am released I will serve my parole in Oklahoma so in a weird twisted way I got what I wanted all along, I just had to deal with a lot of unnecessary mistakes before I got there . I will never forgive myself for My Mistake.
please help with a review

First of all, your punctuation is pretty crazy. Second of all, I think you need to get into your character’s mind a little more. What is he feeling? Show, don’t tell. You’re basically just listing events one after the other: "this happened, then this happened, then this happened." but not injecting much emotion into any of them. In the end, I don’t care what happened to the guy because I never connected with him as a character. Why does he hate his step father? How is his mother acting different? Why can’t he make friends? How did he feel about changing himself? How did he feel about his new friends? What’s going through his head? As it is, it’s like reading a news article. Even if the story’s supposed to be moralistic, you still need to connect with your audience.

PostHeaderIcon Why can’t "Christian" of other faiths act Christian toward those who have never hard but only benefited them?

Do you love it when someone is opening the door for us all in a way that it really does benefit all people?

Answer back to No Name below, "They believe that Jesus commanded Christians to stay out of politics and all war, including culture wars.Jehovah’s Witnesses do use the courts, however, to protect their Christian way of life. They choose to live within certain self-imposed boundaries, which include shunning members who reject the agreed-upon standards. But they also recognize and accept the fact that outside groups will benefit from their legal victories.Imagine if all religions had enough confidence in their faith that someone else’s definition of marriage, life or morality posed no threat to their own.So am I offended because my mom still distributes The Watchtower magazines, which include articles calling homosexuality a sin?If we want an open and free marketplace of ideas, many messages we don’t like will compete for our attention. That’s OK as long as no one is forced to listen or comply.Once you’ve said,"No, thanks" and closed the door, Jehovah’s Witnesses will leave you in peace (at least until their next visit)."
No name said, "No. I think it’s wrong because they are just trying to get people to change their religion. What makes their religion better then other person’s.They should let people follow their own religion and mind their own Business." We do let people follow their own religion but give them a free will choice to know more if they like. Your own choice at your own door how simple. It is those who mix in government and war business you need to say to them mind their own. They force their religion on you by law we do not. You have a free will choice with us not them who like to force their will on you much like sexual abusers do. Which is illegal and constitutionally should be too for any religion to act that way if we look at history of Christian religion and know they did not mix in government and war in the first followers day. [So called] Christian religions later in time started mixing in those things against Jehovah’s and Jesus’ righteous loving will. So say mind their own business!

No name, since now you know a little facts about Jehovah’s Witnesses and those other faiths who do mix and force their religion on you by law and we give you a choice who needs to change their religious ways if not acting like first Christians? Who needs to mind their own business seeing the true facts?
Annalyzedgourds I will just make your answer the best too so you know I do hear you. Agree with you or not. Your free to think and believe how you like. But please come to know the facts without bigotry so [we] can live in peace. With Love Expose Truth [NOW SEE CHALLENGE!]
A PERSONAL CHALLENGE TO ALL RELIGIOUS LEADERS OF THE WORLD FOR LASTING WORLD PEACE & SECURITY!
And if people believe the U.N. not Jehovah can do it have the religious leaders show us! Is this true since dark ages “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says all religious leaders? History of first Christians, “A careful review of all the information available goes to show that, until the time of Marcus Aurelius [121-180 C.E.], no Christian became a soldier; and no soldier, after becoming a Christian, remained in military service.” (The Rise of Christianity, by E. W. Barnes, 1947, p. 333) [cut some here] “While they [the Christians] inculcated the maxims of passive obedience, they refused to take any active part in the civil administration or the military defence of the empire. . . . It was impossible that the Christians, without renouncing a more sacred duty, could assume the character of soldiers, of magistrates, or of princes.”—The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, by Edward Gibbon, Vol. I, p. 416. Now see true history of those you hate without good cause other than the bigotry teachings from those mixing in your private personal business illegally by forcing their own will on you by influencing the legal law system. Paul Hxyz, since JW’s do not believe in killing people you can feel safe in asking them those things you hear from other people that never hear in full what is really being said. You got ears do you not? You have mind too? Use them and hear the right answer to your Question. Show some real wisdom ask for your own self. Please thank you!
The challenge idea came from here, "1 Kings 18:21 Then E·li´jah approached all the people and said: “How long will YOU be limping upon two different opinions? If Jehovah is the [true] God, go following him; but if Ba´al is, go following him.”" Same idea!
Leslie H. said, "I had read this a couple of years ago, saved it, and forgotten where it was. Thank you for bringing it here.
Plain and simple, the reason for the hatred is because of Satanic influence. If a christian isn’t struggling, there is something wrong. It would be nice if christendom would acknowledge that we have been pulling our weight, and theirs, for a long long time now, as far as the preaching work goes, as well as our legal battles to win freedoms for everyone., but it will never happen. The most we can hope for is that someone reads or hears something like this, and begins to ask some serious questions about their faith.
Agape, Leslie" Yes, Leslie how well I the fight we all have in the faith all others hate without good cause at all. O yes, they think they have cause but like the guy about the 144,000 they hear nothing right and do not want to. People love the way it is in the world today hate killing and all. But you and know Daniel 2:44 and is coming soon, true?
I hate that when I look back and see I left words out. I hate being imperfect come on new system please thank you Jehovah by way of your Son Jesus Christ. He will challenge the religious leaders and ask them why they mixed in the governments he would not bow to the Devil to have them for himself at Matthew 4:8-10 so who did they have to bow to, to have the power they have now? We know it was not Jehovah they bowed to, is it? Revelation is clear on who the kings of the earth bow to and their lover who has power over them all. But if they cannot understand the 144,000 thing they will not get who that lover is as well, until it is too late! Than they will say why did you not come to my door and tell me about these things? And we can say, we did but you did not want to hear what we had to say. They will have to say O my God your right! BYE BYE!
See Challenge!

PostHeaderIcon How do I tell her we are dating? Even harder. How do I tell her we are having sex?

So this is a little complicated. I’m raised Christian, so you know about the whole premarital sex thing.I was having sex when I was 12, then I realized I was too young and I actually stopped having sex for 5 years…until now. I’m 17, and my boyfriend and I are..backwards. We started having sex before we had feelings for each other…then later on we realized how much we really liked each other so we just ended up dating (didn’t make sense not to). He just turned 18 and he lives in dc, I live in Va..so he tries to come down every week or as much as possible to visit. My mother trusts me, and allows him to stay the night. There are two rooms in this apt one is my brothers and my mom & I share bed & everything. Crappy living situation, but it’s only temp. My mother also works night shift (11p-7a) but she leaves about 9pm cause he work is far. So after she leaves he and I go into the room, and yeah. I mean you’d figure she’d know by now that we are dating, or at least figure that we are having sex (his parents have) she says things like “wow that boy really loves you” but I feel as if she really doesn’t know we are together. I don’t want her to know, but my boyfriend does…he left a restraint on the bed just to give her a clue! Luckily she didn’t realize what it was. Last weekend at the metro before parting ways I gave my bf a kiss (my mom &brother were sitting in the parking garage and could see straight across directly through the glass where we were-when I got back to the car she said she saw us, but then changed the subject.
Do you think she is playing stupid? What are your opinions on the subject.

Also, I really need to get on birth control. I have a pretty bad latex allergy so when we change from latex to other kinds of condoms I want to be extra safe cause I’ve seen a lot of reviews on polyurethane breaking etc. There are no “planned parenthood” clinics or places nearby me (they‘re far), or maybe I haven’t looked hard enough. So I’ve come to the conclusion that I kinda need to tell her, so that she can help me get birth control? She won’t be happy. She probably wouldn’t allow me to see him anymore, or actually get the bc…so I’m not sure what exactly to do.
Well we ALWAYS use condoms. Always. I want to get on birth control because I am allergic to latex (which is what most condoms are made of) and the other alternatives, i don’t trust them as much, so just to be on the safe side I also want to be on birth control && continue to use condoms.

Yea she knows she is just waiting on you to be honest with her. I wouldn’t leave anymore clues if I was him. Your mother might get upset knowing that her Daughter is tied up to a bed ya know.. and the one that she sleeps in! I would be honest with her and mature about it. She already knows she just wants to hear it from you !

Although I agree with religious conservatives who want to challenge the youth to delay sexual activity for a while, I totally disagree with their message that a condom is a provision for sin. I send my Christian friends to the website below which debunks the whole thing against premarital sex in the Bible. That way they have no excuse not to support comprehensive sex education.

PostHeaderIcon What is The Best Way to Satisfy Your Spiritual Needs?

WHY DO PEOPLE need religion? Some would say that humans turn to spiritual matters in order to find security in an insecure world. But there is more to it than that. An article in the journal American Sociological Review noted: “The need for security is not the only attraction of religion. People have always sought answers to such questions as: Where do we come from? Where are we going? Why are we here?”

No doubt you would agree that those are profoundly important questions. As such, do they not require reliable answers? Such questions are too important, too weighty, to be resolved by simply selecting religious beliefs from various traditions because these appeal to us personally. If we are to find solid, reliable answers to life’s deeper questions, surely we need a better method.

Is there something better? Ferrar Fenton, a translator of the Bible, said something remarkable about that book. He called it “the only key that unlocks the Mystery of the Universe to Man, and the Mystery of Man to Himself.” Yes, the Bible answers questions about the past, the present, and the future. It tells us where we came from, what the meaning of life is, how we can find happiness, and what the future holds for us. No other book in history has been as influential as the Bible; nor has any other book survived so many virulent attacks. Why, though, do so many disregard this unique book in their search for answers to life’s questions?

Many people have not paused to consider the profound differences between the Bible and the churches they have known. They have seen how so-called Christians slaughter one another in God’s name. Many have complained, as The Guardian noted, that “priests are more interested nowadays in raising money than in pastoral visits.” They think, perhaps, that the Bible endorses or condones such behavior. The truth is, the Bible commands Christians to “love one another,” and it tells those who preach the word, “You received free, give free.” (John 13:34; Matthew 10:8) Is it fair, then, to judge the Bible by the deeds of people who claim to respect it but do not follow it?

Many believe that the Bible is unscientific, self-contradictory, and old-fashioned. But a thorough investigation shows the opposite. Granted, the Bible is not a science textbook. Yet, when it does touch on subjects relating to science—such as the order in which living things appeared on earth, the shape of the earth, or the proper treatment of infectious diseases—the Bible says nothing incorrect. On the contrary, it contains statements that were centuries ahead of their time. And although the Bible is composed of 66 books written over a period of 1,600 years, all of them are in harmony with one another. Furthermore, the Bible exhibits extraordinary insight into human nature, making it as up-to-date today as ever.

This remarkable book says something crucial about the worship of God. It says that such worship must be carried out, not on man’s terms, but on God’s terms. (John 5:30; James 4:13-15; 2 Peter 1:21) But few people have truly observed that principle. From earliest times men have made religions to suit their own purposes. That is true when people carve their gods from pieces of wood and worship them. It is true when religious institutions teach doctrines that they have invented. And is it not also true of those individuals who tailor a private religion to suit their own preferences?

Consider an alternative. Why not do as a chief justice of the United States Supreme Court did? In the same way that he tried cases in court, he impartially investigated the evidence for and against the truthfulness of the Bible. With what result? He said: “I have come to the decision that the Bible is a supernatural book, that it has come from God.”

How can you make a similar investigation yourself? As a suggestion, you might try a systematic study of the Bible, examining its answers to the questions raised at the outset of this article. There are nearly seven million of Jehovah’s Witnesses, who have made such a study. They volunteer their time in order to share with others what they have learned. The home Bible study course they offer without charge has helped millions to find a faith that is more than a fad or a matter of taste. The true, pure Christianity presented in the Bible is not just another religion. It represents the truth about God and his purposes. So why settle for less?—John 17:17.

Its an interesting question, but the essay that follows it suggests that you aren’t interested in hearing anyone’s answer but your own.

My spritual needs are best met by not discussing them with narrow minded people, but thanks for the invitation.

PostHeaderIcon Greek Scholars Praise the New world Translation of the Holy Bible?

Many people of different Languages and denominations of Christendom all around the world are coming to accept it’s proven accuracy, Even the Greeks themselves…..
Some Comments by Greek Scholars on The New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures

“This is no ordinary interlinear: the integrity of the text is preserved, and the English which appears below it is simply the basic meaning of the Greek word. . . . After examining a copy, I equipped several interested second-year Greek students with it as an auxiliary text. . . . The translation by the anonymous committee is thoroughly up-to-date and consistently accurate. . . . In sum, when a Witness comes to the door, the classicist, Greek student, or Bible student alike would do well to bring him in and place an order.”—From a review of The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures, by Thomas N. Winter of the University of Nebraska, appearing in The Classical Journal, April–May 1974.

“I am interested in the mission work of your people, and its world wide scope, and much pleased with the free, frank and vigorous translation. It exhibits a vast array of sound serious learning, as I can testify.”—Letter, December 8, 1950, from Edgar J. Goodspeed, translator of the Greek “New Testament” in An American Translation.

“The translation is evidently the work of skilled and clever scholars, who have sought to bring out as much of the true sense of the Greek text as the English language is capable of expressing.”—Hebrew and Greek scholar Alexander Thomson, in The Differentiator, April 1952, pages 52-7.

“The translation of the New Testament is evidence of the presence in the movement of scholars qualified to deal intelligently with the many problems of Biblical translation.”—Andover Newton Quarterly, January 1963.

“The New Testament translation was made by a committee whose membership has never been revealed—a committee that possessed an unusual competence in Greek.”—Andover Newton Quarterly, September 1966.

Did you know that you can actually get YOUR OWN copy for Free? I did ,ask any JW.

Well, there you have it. Even when it is shown clearly that Greek scholars have praised the NWT, people who don’t want to believe it just won’t believe it.

They can’t believe it. Believing it would turn their theological world upside down, and they can’t allow that.

It’s too bad that bias and stereotyping lead people to hold such ignorant positions.

Of course, don’t expect Trinitarian scholars to praise the NWT, for the same reasons. Their biases just won’t allow them to do so.

Thank God, everyone is not closed-minded or bound by denominational or shoddy scholarship, and therefore, there are some who can objectively appreciate the excellent scholarship upon which the NWT stands.

PostHeaderIcon Any more studies on Religion and IQ?

This is the information, I’ve found to date…any other studies out there?
The site at ( http://kspark.kaist.ac.kr/Jesus/Intelligence%20&%20religion.htm)

A good review of several studies of IQ and religiosity, paraphrased
and summarized from Burnham Beckwith’s article, "The Effect of
Intelligence on Religious Faith," Free Inquiry, Spring 1986:

It summarises as follows:
"The consensus here is clear: more intelligent people tend not to
believe in religion. And this observation is given added force when
you consider that the above studies span a broad range of time,
subjects and methodologies, and yet arrive at the same conclusion.

"This is the result even when the researchers are Christian
conservatives themselves. One such researcher is George Gallup. Here
are the results of a Fall 1995 Gallup poll:

Percentage of respondents who agreed with the following statements:

Religion is Religion can
"very important "answer all or most
Respondents in their life" of today’s problems"
————————————————————
Attended college 53 percent 58 percent
No college 63 65

A more recent poll, "The Gallup international Millenium survey" (
http://www.gallup-international.com/survey15.htm ) shows the same
negative correlation between education and religion, and also between
intelligence and religion. For college graduates, 52% are religious
and 25% are committed to church attendance, while the percentages are
70% and 33% for people who only completed primary school."
Data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health, 1997) … Young adults who subjectively identify themselves as "very liberal" have an average IQ of 106 during adolescence while those who identify themselves as "very conservative" have an average IQ of 95 during adolescence.

Research has shown atheists have a higher intelligence than people with a strong religious faith. The difference is 5.8 points according to findings in developmental psychology!!!

More members of the "intellectual elite" considered themselves atheists than the national average.

Only 7 percent of members of the American National Academy of Sciences believed in God. Whilst only 3.3 percent believed in God in the UK’s Royal Society.

Several Gallup poll studies of the general population have shown that those with higher IQ’s tend not to believe in God."

Neuroscientists have conducted the most comprehensive brain mapping to date of the cognitive abilities measured by the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS), the most widely used intelligence test in the world.

The results show that the various factors that comprise a high or low IQ score
depend on particular regions of the brain.

The WAIS test is composed of four indices of intelligence, each consisting of several subtests, which together produce a full-scale IQ score. The four indices are the verbal comprehension index, which represents the ability to understand and to produce speech and use language; the perceptual organization index, which involves visual and spatial processing, such as the ability to perceive complex figures; the working memory index, which represents the ability to hold information temporarily in mind (similar to short-term memory); and the processing speed index.

With the exception of processing speed, which appears scattered throughout the brain, the lesion mapping showed that the other three cognitive indices really do depend on specific brain regions.

For example, lesions in the left frontal cortex were associated with lower scores on the verbal comprehension index; lesions in the left frontal and parietal cortex (located behind the frontal lobe) were associated with lower scores on the working memory index; and lesions in the right parietal cortex were associated with lower scores on the perceptual organization index.

The study also revealed a large amount of overlap in the brain regions responsible for verbal comprehension and working memory, which suggests that these two now-separate measures of cognitive ability may actually represent the same type of intelligence, at least as assessed using the WAIS.

It matters not if they are atheist because of this new type of intelligence or get it because they are atheist – it is a totally different and far more efficient process!
