I’m looking for the title of a Christian romance novel?
A few years ago I read the excerpt of a book on Christianbook.com, I really liked it but because I couldn’t buy it at the moment, I was stupid and never saved the title of the book, or the author. I’ll try and give you the gist of the story but it was a long time ago and I can’t really remember. It’s a romance novel about a girl who is living with her father in another country. [I'm pretty sure they're Americans.] Her father is someone high up in the military and is there for work reasons. They’ve been there for a while now. Anyway she is some with friends at a little shop when a colleague of her fathers comes to pick her up telling her something is wrong and her father sent him to get her to safety. She’s getting into the car when two other men show up. There’s some shooting and the man that come to get her first gets killed, and she is thrown into a car with the other two. It turns out her fathers colleague was actually the one trying to kidnap her and the other two were there to save her. That’s as far as the excerpt went. Does anyone know the book? Thanks!

If you like romance, christian romances tend to be given the classification of "Inspirational."
Do Christian romance novels have sex in them?
I’ve never read one, but at my work we carry them, and they all have either an Amish woman or a woman wearing Victorian era clothing. My understanding of romance novels is that they focus a lot on sex. Now, assuming it’s between a husband and wife, do christian romance novels describe sex, and if so, how explicitly?
If you can find any excerpts online please post.
Dude read the bible?
It’s got sex, rape, murder, genocide and everything.lol
Good "Christian romance" novels?
Something for teens but "clean"… with absolutely no dirty scenes?
Got anything in mind? I can’t find anything so far.

Match Point by Erynn Mangum
They are awesome!!! They are funny and romantic and christian like all at the same time! It’s basically about a 20 something girl and her best friend that say they are never getting married. The girl(Lauren) tries to play match maker with her friends.
Here is the back cover exerpt:
Lauren Holbrook has found her life’s calling: matchmaking for the romantically challenged. And with the eclectic cast of characters in her world, there’s tons of potential to play "connect the friends." Inspired by the recent success of matching her sister and new husband, Lauren sets out to introduce Nick, her carefree singles’ pastor to Ruby, her neurotic co-worker who plans every second of every day. What could possible go wrong? Just about everything.
When Lauren’s foolproof plan begins to unravel, she learns that a simple introduction between friends can bring about complicated results. And as she reconsiders her new role as cupid(as well as her own vow to stay single forever), will Lauren finally decide that God’s plan is good enough?
It’s really good!
Suggestions for great Christian authors?
I love reading christian romance novels! My favorite author has been Lori Wick, and I’ve read so many of her books!
By the way I loved The Princess, Who Brings Forth the Wind, Pretense, and Whispers of Moonlight. Have you read any of hers? If yes, what were your favorite books, and why?
But I am now looking for something else, because I need more variety and options. Besides I am getting somewhat tired of reading Lori Wick.
So do you have any suggestions, who are your favorite Christian writers?
Grace Livingston Hill was a minister’s wife who’s husband died and she had to move her family out of the parsonage and support them somehow.
She began writing books. There are more than 50 Grace Livingston Hill books back in print now.
They are wonderful stories of young people (most of them are about young women but a few are about young men) who are Christians facing life’s challenges. They are romance novels but present romance from the Godly perspective that it should be presented in.
There is one also called The Grace Livingston Hill Story it’s all about her life.
My two favorite Grace Livingston Hill books are:
The Enchanted Barn and Rainbow Cottage.
Google Grace Livingston Hill, I’m sure you’ll get lots of info.
I’m writing a Christian Romance "book". Only SERIOUS and honest opinions please.
Chapter 1
Emma Davis pushed herself up from the floor where she had been praying at her pew and sat back in her seat. She pulled her long brown hair behind her ear, carefully smoothed her skirt and blouse and sat contently listening to Sis. Mathis play softly for those still remaining in the altars.
She discretely looked around for the other young people that attended her small church before realizing that tonight was Wednesday, they were all in the back for the youth class. Normally Emma joined them in the back, but tonight she just hadn’t felt like joining them. She didn’t feel like being around the chatter, the drama, so she had on a last minute impulse when the Pastor dismissed the youth she had decided to stay in the sanctuary.
Emma quietly got up from the pew where she was sitting and headed out to the vestibule of the small church. She quietly closed the sanctuary door behind her and began walking towards the water fountain directly across the room. “Emma” she heard in a barely audible whisper. Turning to her right she saw her best friend Jaslyn wedging her head in a small space in the open door.
“Come here” she said opening the door a bit wider and motioned for her with her hands. Emma quickly obeyed and walked outside while Jaslyn held the door for her.
Emma walked a few feet away from the front door of the church and turned around to face Jaslyn. With only the glow from the streetlight a few feet away, her radiant skin tone still glowed. Being from a Puerto Rican father and an African American mother, she had inherited a light complexion with radiant skin that Emma often found herself envious of. “I have something for you” she said in a singsong voice while waving a small white envelope in her hand.
Emma tried to grab the envelope from her but she quickly snatched it behind her back out of reach. “Not yet” she replied standing to her full height of 5’1’ while wagging a finger in Emma’s face. “Why didn’t you come to class tonight? It’s not called a youth class for nothing. You’re youth, you’re supposed to come.”
“Don’t I usually go back with you? I just didn’t feel like going tonight. I wanted to stay in the sanctuary. Is that alright with you, Mother?” She added sarcastically.
“Yes, dear you’re excused, this time.” She answered while playfully patting Emma on the shoulder. “So…Is church over yet?” she asked while leaning backwards to look the glass door of the church.
Emma grabbed her arm forcing her to face forward. “Jaslyn you know that the classes are always dismissed before church is over. Quit stalling and tell me what’s in the envelope.” She flashed her a smile while quickly adding “Please.”
Jaslyn handed her the envelope and Emma hastily began to open eager to discover its contents. She opened the flap and pulled out a crème colored card with a large cross on the left side and gold lettering that read the following:
The Graduating Class
of
Bethel Holiness Academy
announces the
Commencement Exercises
Friday evening, May eleventh
Two-thousand and four
at seven o’clock
Emma ran her fingers along the border of the name card that read “Daniel Miller”. “Wow. He gave you your own personal invitation. All of the other Seniors are just putting them up on the bulletin board in the church.” Jaslyn reached up and put her hand on her friend’s arm and offered her a warm smile.
“So, that doesn’t mean anything. Who else did he give one to?”
“He only had one invitation tonight.”
“But that doesn’t mean anything. Every other young person at church goes to school here except me, so he probably gave it to them at school he just had to wait until later to give me mine.”
“He could have, but I wouldn’t know for sure because we’re still homeschooled. We won’t be coming back to school until the beginning of next year.”
“That’s probably what happened.” She tried to force her best smile.
“Hey what’s that?” Ryan asked coming up behind them. “So you got it!”
“Got what?” Jaslyn and Emma both asked confused.
“Daniel only ordered one invitation and the whole school has been trying to figure out who he was giving it to.”
Emma could feel Jaslyn’s eyes upon her but she tried her best to ignore them and act as normal as possible.
“Where is Daniel anyway?” Ryan asked looking around.
“He told me he had to leave early and asked me to give the invitation to Emma.” Jaslyn spoke up.
I don’t want to publish it, it’s just something I’m doing for "fun".

Part 2 Daniel leaves town after she rejects him, because she doesn’t believe that they can be together because he’s not saved. He’s gone for 4 years, Part 2 picks up where he comes back.
I think your writing is quite strong–and the idea of the single invitation is original and interesting. Good luck with the book and if you haven’t done so already, join or start a writers’ group so you can get constructive feedback on both content and style.
As you get closer to a finished manuscript, you’ll want to get the latest edition of Christian Writers’ Market Guide. It comes out annually and is a directory of Christian publishers complete with contact information and submission guidelines. You can get the book at most libraries.
Good luck,
Amy
